GVM Reign FH400 Introduced – Flat, Lightweight COB Light

During NAB 2025, CineD’s Johnnie visited the GVM’s booth to take a look at their new product from what they call the Flathead series – GVM Reign FH400. What’s so special about it? Well, this is a COB light, but in a thin and lightweight form, stackable, and easy to transport. Watch our video above or read along to get a closer look!

As Azhar Abdulkadir from GVM explains, the Flathead series targets professionals “who need a lot of power but want to cut the weight down.” Whether for a studio set-up or for a headlighting rig on set, as a separate small fixture, or in the form of combined panels to mimic a large source, GVM Reign FH400 has something to offer different scenarios.

Interview with GVM staff explaining the powerful, portable, and easy-to-store Reign FH400 professional lighting solution.

The USP of GVM Reign FH400

Essentially, the GVM Reign Flathead series is a single-source COB technology with a consistent, focused output but in a different form. Azhar calls it “reimaging COB lights,” which are usually large, bulky, heavy, and hard to store. That’s why, for the new product, the company chose the 1:1 panel shape and decided to cut the weight and cut the lens down. This helped make the new lighting series thin, lightweight, and easy to transport.

The GVM Reign FH400 has 400W output and is available as a Bi-color (FH400B), with a 2700K to 6800K color temperature range, and as an RGB version (FH400C), which provides full-spectrum RGBWW. The Flathead series also includes a 200W version (F200C). The weight of the more powerful option is 6,35 kg (14 lbs), and the 200W weighs just 2,9 kg (6.4 lbs).

Stackable lights for one large source

Another feature that GVM proudly presents is the possibility to stack up to 6 lights. Currently, they offer 2-, 4- or 6-light array frames and provide softboxes suitable for these set-ups, which means you can get up to 2400W of combined power. According to Azhar, developers went through various tests and found that a 6-light array of GVM Reign FH400 gives users more output than a classic 2400W single COB light.

At the same time, customers can easily purchase just one light. It will come with a yoke and quick attachment points on both sides.

Custom choices

Apart from offering various output and RGB/Bi-color options, Azhar ensures in the interview that GVM makes the Flathead series personalized with user-interchangeable solutions. For instance, the FH400 lights come with two DMX ports (In and Out) on the back, but users who don’t need them can choose a version without DMX and pay less.

Other configurations can also be discussed with developers – more examples and options can be seen in the video.
